Introduction
Most of the special shaped steel we produce is not selected from a catalogue. It is developed from customer drawings.
In actual projects, many profiles are originally designed as round bars or rectangular bars and then heavily machined. For medium and large production volumes, that approach usually leads to high material waste and long machining cycles.
By producing the profile close to the final component geometry, customers can reduce milling and turning operations and keep the functional dimensions more consistent from batch to batch.

Near-Net Shape Manufacturing
Profiles are produced close to the finished part geometry, reducing unnecessary material removal and shortening machining time.
Better Dimensional Stability
For automated assembly lines, stable cross-section consistency is often more important than pursuing extremely tight tolerances on every dimension.
Process Selection Based on Profile Geometry
Our engineers evaluate whether the profile is more suitable for cold drawing, hot rolling or secondary machining before production. Sharp corners, thin walls and asymmetric sections require different manufacturing approaches.
Material Optimization
For many wear-resistant parts, 42CrMo is not automatically the best choice. In some applications, 45# or 40Cr provides better machinability and lower overall manufacturing cost after heat treatment.

Cold drawn profiles are usually preferred for smaller sections requiring better dimensional accuracy, while hot rolled profiles are more economical for larger structural sections.
